We are all leaders. Elders, Deacons and FPC members all participate in
the mission and programs of First Presbyterian - inside the Church,
in the community, and in the world.
Our committee structure meets the needs of the
Church, by drawing on the energies and interests of a large pool of talent.
Here's a quick look at the organizational structure of First
Presbyterian, in alphabetical order:
Committee & Chairperson |
Role and
Responsibilities |
Administration
David Hannay |
Develops policies and procedures, updates position descriptions,
evaluates staff, reviews and approves building use. |
Christian
Education
Garrett DeGraff |
Provides opportunities
for people of all ages to nurture their faith - through church school, confirmation and inquirers classes, study
groups, youth groups, and special programs |
Communications
& Technology
Ray Henrikson |
Harnesses computer and communications technology to support the
mission of First Presbyterian, including modern office databases,
e-mail, publicity, newsletters and website. |
Endowment
Robert Stevens |
Monitors performance of our endowment funds, maintaining separate
accounts for restricted gifts, and advises the members of the
financial health of the church. |
Finance
David Hannay |
Living within a budget requires careful review of all expenditures,
monitoring cash flow to meet monthly expenses, and considering
alternatives when special needs arise. With careful management, our
loaves and fishes can feed the multitude. |
Membership
Donald Mark |
Organizes neighborhood visitations, welcomes newcomers, sponsors
picnics and public meals, all part of our open invitation to all who
enter our doors. |
More Light
Joyce Bascom |
Supports our church's position for full inclusion of all people,
regardless of sexual orientation. We seek to remove misguided limits
on the ordination of elders, deacons and ministers. |
Nominations
Charles Kite |
There is always room for one more leader. Deacons and Elders are
selected and elected for three-year terms. May we add you to our list? |
Outreach & Mission
Debra Fagans
|
Because of God's love for us, we are called to be God's arms and legs and the agents used to bring about "the renovation of the world." By following Jesus, we help others to see the face of God in many ways. Come join the renovation. |
Property
Ray Henrikson |
Window repairs, roof leaks, furnace fixes, sound system gremlins and
plumbing problems are all our purview. We just completed a major
restoration of one of our stained glass windows. |
Stewardship
Harry Meislahn & Stephanie Kite |
Keeping pace with inflation and program needs requires more than
sound investment of our endowment. It requires generosity from those
who pledge their annual support. |
Worship
Carolyn Snyder Lemmon |
From Advent to Christmas, from Lent to Easter, and on to Pentecost,
the Church Year is replete with diversity in liturgy. Worship at
First Presbyterian can be familiar and special at the same time.
Inspiring words from our co-pastors are augmented by
corporate prayer, choir, organ and guest artists.
Add annual observances of African-American History Month, recognition
of Women making history, and ecumenical baptismal witnesses. |
