PRIDE PARADE 2005

Members and friends of First Presbyterian are always happy to explain to all and sundry that we are a More Light congregation. That is, we affirm all people are equal in God's (and our) eyes. This year's First Pres Parade Float stressed that message - a Communion Table open to all.

Sunday, June 12, while guest conductor Jack Holmes led a sweaty Choir in its last anthem of the season indoors, our More Light committee proudly participated in Albany's annual Pride Parade.

Our motley crew (three generations yet) joined with other Presbyterian congregations to proclaim a simple message.

Come as God made you.

Come as God made you!

Presbyterians on parade

Building a Rainbow Charles Kite (at right) had his suburban neighbors wondering what he was up to.

Of course Noah's neighbors were equally curious back in the day before God gave Noah the rainbow sign.

Let an umbrella be your smile.

Umbrellas work on sunny days too. This one would make a great test subject for Kodak film!

Smiles abounded, despite the steamy, sultry air in Washington Park.

What's a cubit!

You can never have too many clamps.

Attention to detail - even the clamps holding our float together were bedecked in rainbow colors.

We suspect our chauffeur had the air conditioner going full blast, but he can be rightfully proud of his creation.

NASCAR, here we come!
