PULPIT GUEST - May 2
Barbara Wheeler, president of Auburn Theological Seminary in
New York City, will be in our pulpit for both services Sunday, May 2.
Wheeler is a graduate of Barnard College and has received an honorary
doctorate from Hamilton College. She is president of Auburn
Theological Seminary - a progressive Presbyterian seminary with
offices at non-denominational Union Theological Seminary in New York
City - and the director of Auburn's Center for the Study of
Theological Education.
In her research she has focused attention on a wide range of
religious groups and their systems of theological education.
She is co-author of Being There: Culture and Formation in
Two Theological Schools (Oxford University Press).
Barbara Wheeler is on the Presbyterian Church (USA) General
Assembly's task force on the Peace, Unity and Purity of the Church. |

Working collaboratively with experts on Roman Catholic theological
education and rabbinical education, she has also published studies of
seminary faculty, students, and the public presence of theological
schools and religious leaders. |
