No need to cook, no dishes to dirty, no telemarketers to interrupt
your meal. Rev. Joseph Shook will guide us through ancient wisdom and
contemporary thought, linking the Seven Penitential Psalms (6,
32, 38, 51, 102, 130 and 143) with William Sloane Coffin's A
Passion for the Possible.
Why the Seven Penitential Psalms? In Old Testament times, they
were calls for deliverance from illness or false accusation, or
helping a nation in time of distress. Enough said.
Why William Sloane Coffin? His post-9/11 second edition offers up-to-date
reflections on timeless, contemporary issues. His table of contents
is provocative in itself. |
