Rev. 6/24/04   JUNE 2004 STRAWBERRY SOCIAL Sunday, June 20 was the last day of Spring. How better to mark the change of the seasons with a generous helping of Strawberry Shortcake. Outside on the corner, our new planters soaked up the rays of a sparkling sun, while inside the vitamins (C and D) came from a healthy admixture of strawberries, shortcake and vanilla ice cream. While one of our younger diners expressed skepticism at the crimson offering, more experienced hands delighted in the annual treat, going so far as to feign interest in the table conversations. Our Fellowship Hall acquitted itself honorably for yet another Sunday. There were smiling faces on both sides of the table as young and younger waited patiently for their ruby-red festival of flavors. The only concern of the day - would there be enough plates? Ingredients were in goodly supply, as were our First Presbyterians!
