THE CHRIST CANDLE
Rev. Joseph Shook begins the relay of light, drawing flame from the
Christ Candle, center of our Advent Wreath.
Slowly, the gleam spread throughout the darkened church, until one
and all could read their carol lyrics.
Once again, despite war and pestilence, hatred and greed, Christmas
came to Albany and the world.
More than candles were kindled that evening, as each of us reflected
on Christmases past, remembered those no longer with us, and prayed
for Christmases to come.
