For others it means the ambulance will get there faster (for a loved one or a total stranger). Sometimes a passing motorist can aid police in apprehending a criminal - while keeping a safe distance. Did you know that those tired, old cell phones you have stuck in the back of your desk drawer can be recycled? Some cell phones can be reprogrammed for use solely as a 911 emergency phone (free call). Others can be recycled to retrieve their precious metals - providing funds to charity. Your tired old cell phone can be a Godsend to a family terrorized by domestic violence. Bring it to First Presbyterian, and we will forward it to our good neighbor - EQUINOX which will see that those phones aew converted to Emergency 911 service, or "melted down" to support their Domestic Violence program.
